Printing to a Perceptive Content (formerly ImageNow) Printer

Overview

Perceptive Content (formerly known as ImageNow) is a content management and workflow suite used to handle various content types. AACC employees with access to an ImageNow printer may "print" documents to an ImageNow Printer, storing them electronically on the AACC server.

Occasionally, you may receive an error when attempting to print to an ImageNow printer.  Follow these steps to troubleshoot your problem.

Troubleshooting

  1. Verify that you are printing to the correct printer. In your application print dialog box, select ImageNow Printer.

  2. Verify that you are connected to the AACC network. 
    • If you are working remotely, you must connect to the FortiClient VPN prior to accessing an ImageNow printer. Check your VPN connection status by viewing the FortiClient shield in the bottom right corner of your screen. If you are missing the gold "lock," select the shield icon to reconnect. After re-connecting, try printing to your ImageNow Printer again.

    • If you are working on campus, double-check that you are connected to the AACC network. Can you access the Internet, share drives, email, etc.?

  3. Verify that the Perceptive Content application is running. The Perceptive Content application must be open and running in the background in order to print to an ImageNow printer. You may see the message below if the Perceptive Content application is not open. Launch Perceptive Content, and try printing your document again.

    Image Now Error message. You must log in to the Image Now Client.

  4. Clear the print queue. Sometimes print jobs get stuck in a printer's queue on your computer, preventing you from printing any new jobs. Follow these steps to clear the queue:

    1. Open the Control Panel.

    2. Select Devices and Printer.

    3. Double select the ImageNow Printer to "See what's printing"

    4. Right select the stuck print job and select Cancel.

    5. Try printing to your ImageNow Printer again.

  5. Restart your computer. If you're working remotely, don't forget to connect to the VPN before attempting to print to ImageNow.
