Body

Overview

You are unable to edit/cancel a meeting on the Outlook desktop application and are shown a Conflict Message error.

Issue

Unable to edit/cancel a meeting in the Outlook desktop application (OWA is unaffected by this error) and each subsequent attempt to edit/cancel a meeting, a Conflict Message dialog box appears along with creating offline copies of the meeting in the OST file for Outlook and applying them to your calendar (others do not see the duplicates just the creator of the meetings).

Instructions

  2. Right click the affected calendar in the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Select Properties.

Select Properties

  1. Select Clear Offline Items.

Select Clear Offline Items

  1. Select OK

Select ok

  1. Close and reopen Outlook to force Outlook to resync with the calendar on the exchange server.

After completing these steps the resync can/will take time to populate all meetings on your calendar again since it depends on how many meetings there are to repopulate.
