Known Issues with Microsoft Teams

Chats

• When creating Chats, phone calls, adding members to Teams and using @mention’s, you will need to use the full email address e.g., username@mymail.aacc.edu or username@aacc.edu

Teams Audio

• You may experience some echoing in the audio conference that should eventually go away. If it does not go away, reboot your computer.

• Check you have a strong Internet connection. If your Internet connection is weak move closer to the router or plug your computer into the router with an Ethernet cable.

Uploading a team photo

• During creation of the team, the Teams photo upload may get stuck on the saving changes screen. Close Teams and reopen and you should be able to successfully modify the team photo.

Teams performance sluggish at times

• Teams functions best with the desktop application.

• The web browser-based version has seen issues when loading. Recommended browsers for Teams are: Microsoft Edge, latest version of Chrome, and the latest version of Firefox. Chrome and Firefox versions change rapidly and your browser should automatically update.

• Check you have a strong Internet connection. If your Internet connection is weak move closer to the router or plug your computer into the router with an Ethernet cable.

Renaming Teams

• It is not advisable to rename Teams

Cannot edit word documents in the Teams application.

For users working with Office documents in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft is beginning to roll out a temporary change where there will be an additional step in order to edit a document. This is a change from current behavior that allows users to go straight to edit mode when clicking on a document in the "Files" tab of a channel, a conversation, or from inside an assignment.

• Upon clicking on the document, users will first see the document in view mode – they will be able to see the document content, but not make changes.

• In order to edit the document, users need to click on the options in the top right of the white bar above the document content and select "Open in Browser" or (for users with Office for Windows installed on their device) "Open in Desktop App". This will open the document in Office in a separate window from Teams and allow the user to make changes.

OneNote in Teams

• OneNote in Teams will be read-only. To edit, please use OneNote for the web or OneNote desktop app. The error below is what is presented when using OneNote in Teams. By clicking on the link, it will open OneNote for the web.

Town Halls in Teams

• Town Halls are not yet supported for web based users using Firefox and Safari
