Setting and Removing Personal Pronouns

AACC community members with access to MyAACC may set personal pronouns for their account. Your pronouns will display in Self Service, MyAACC, Canvas, and Zoom.

Overview

AACC community members with access to MyAACC may set personal pronouns for their account. Your pronouns will display in Self Service, MyAACC and Canvas.

Setting Personal Pronouns

To set your desired pronouns, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the MyAACC Portal (portal.aacc.edu) and sign in.
2. Select Access Self Services from the Self Services card.
3. Select your username in the top right corner, then select User Profile.
4. Select Edit Personal Identity.
5. Select the dropdown under Preferred Pronoun and select the desired pronoun.
6. When finished, select the Save button to save your changes.

Turning off Personal Pronouns

If you no longer want personal pronouns to be displayed, follow the steps below to turn them off in both Self Services and Canvas.

• Removing pronouns in Self Services
  1. Navigate to the MyAACC Portal (portal.aacc.edu) and sign in.
  2. Select the Access Self Services button from the Self Services card.
  3. Select your username in the top right corner, then select User Profile.
  4. Select Edit Personal Identity.
  5. Select the dropdown under the Preferred Pronoun heading and select the blank row at the top.
  6. When finished, select the Save button to save your changes.
• Removing pronouns in Canvas
  1. From the MyAACC Portal (portal.aacc.edu), select Access Canvas from the Access My Courses card.
  2. Select Account from the left navigation, then select Settings.
  3. Select the Edit Settings button.
  4. Select the Pronouns drop-down menu and select None to remove pronouns. 
  5. Select Update Settings.

Troubleshooting
