Instructions
Collegewide Communications
If an AACC employee needs to send a collegewide communication, they should first review the college’s Mass Email Guidelines, developed by Strategic Communications. These guidelines outline appropriate uses of collegewide email and identify other communication channels that may be more appropriate.
If, after reviewing the guidelines, the employee still needs to send the communication, an approved shared mailbox should be utilized to send the message. To gain sending access to a shard mailbox, use the Help with Shared Mailbox form to submit a ticket.
Sending from Shared Mailboxes - Outlook Web App (OWA)
Outbound sending policy for both @mymail.aacc.edu and @aacc.edu accounts:
- From a web browser launch and sign into, https://outlook.office.com
- Once signed in, select the User Icon in the upper right area, followed by the 'Open another mailbox' link

- In the provided dialog window, enter the name of the shared mailbox which you would like your messages sent from.

- Once selected, the Shared Mailbox will open. Here you can create a new message to be sent from this account to a large number of recipients. When sending a new message, select the 'Option' tab followed by the 'Show From' text box to select the account which you wish the message to be distributed from.

Collegewide Distribution Lists
As part of the new sending limits:
- FACULTY and STAFF and Student distribution lists will only accept messages submitted from approved shared mailboxes.
- Messages sent to these distribution lists from individual employee accounts will not be delivered.
Employees who need to communicate with the collegewide FACULTY and STAFF or Student distribution lists should therefore review the Mass Email Guidelines first and, when appropriate, request access to an approved shared mailbox.
