Local Computer Admin Privilege

What Is This Service?

Local Computer Admin Privilege provides approved AACC employees with temporary access to the local administrator password for an AACC-owned computer. This access may be used when administrative permissions are required to install or configure software for legitimate college business or academic purposes.

Initial approval from the user’s supervisor and Information Security is required before access can be provided. Once approved, the Technical Service Desk (TSD) can provide the local administrator password when needed. The password may be provided for a period of 1–3 days, after which the TSD will reset the local administrator password.

After a user has received initial approval, additional supervisor and Information Security approvals are not required each time the password is requested. The user may contact the TSD when administrative access is needed, and the TSD will provide the current password in accordance with the approved access.

Where Can I Get It?

Select Request Local Computer Admin Privilege on this page to request initial approval for local administrator access.

Once your request has been approved, contact the Technical Service Desk when you need the local administrator password for your assigned AACC computer. The TSD will verify your approved status and provide the password.

If you no longer require local administrator access, select Remove Local Computer Admin Privilege to submit a removal request.

Additional Information
