Software Installation Request

What Is This Service?

The Software Installation Request service allows employees to request installation of applications on college-owned devices (laptops or desktops). All software must meet Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) standards for security and accessibility before it can be installed.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

AACC faculty, staff, and students using a college-owned device are eligible to request software installation.

Where Can I Get It?

Submit a request through the Service Des Portal. Select the Request Software Installation button on this page and submit a request.

Before submitting your request, review the Technology Audit Dashboard to determine whether the software has already been reviewed by IIT.

How Do I Use It?

  1. Check the Technology Audit Dashboard
    • Search for the software to see if it has already been reviewed for accessibility and security.
  2. If the software is NOT listed:
    • Submit a Technology Audit request first.
    • Once the audit is completed and approved, you can submit a Software Installation Request.
  3. If the software IS listed:
    • Review the “IIT Standard/Non-Standard” column:
      • Standard software: Typically included in the college’s standard computer image and usually does not require additional approval.
      • Non-standard software: Not included in the standard image and may require approval from your supervisor and IIT.
        • If needed, supervisor approval will be requested automatically via email after you submit your ticket.
  4. Submit the Software Installation Request
    • Provide all required details about the software and your device.
  5. After submission:
    • An IIT technician may contact you during business hours if additional information is needed.
    • Software installations are typically completed remotely.

Timeline:

  • Standard installations: Approximately 10 business days for testing and deployment
  • Computer labs: Up to 3 weeks, to allow for additional testing and coordination
