Microsoft Admin Consent Requests

What Is This Service?

Some applications that integrate with Microsoft 365 (M365) require admin approval before they can access data or services. When a user attempts to sign in or grant permissions to such an application, they may see a pop-up message stating "Approval Required" for the specific app. Users will have the option to provide a justification for their request.

Once a request is submitted, it is reviewed by AACC’s IIT administrators to ensure compliance with security policies. The requester will receive further instructions via email.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

This service is available to all AACC faculty, staff, and students who need to use third-party applications that integrate with Microsoft 365 products and require admin approval.

Where Can I Get It?

Users will encounter the "Approval Required" message when attempting to sign in to an application that requires admin consent. Requests must be submitted through this process. If you have questions, you can contact the Technical Service Desk for assistance.

How Do I Use It?

  1. When prompted with the "Approval Required" message, enter a justification for why access to the application is needed.
  2. Submit the request for approval.
  3. You will receive an email from the Technical Service Desk with instructions on providing additional details, if necessary.
  4. IIT administrators will review the request to ensure security and compliance.
  5. You will receive an update on the approval status. If approved, access will be granted, and you may proceed with using the application.
