The VPN / FortiClient is available on AACC-owned MacOS devices. Follow the instructions below for connecting on a Macintosh.
Instructions
Multi-factor Authentication (M-F-A) must be set up prior to accessing the V-P-N. See the Configure Microsoft Authenticator on New Phone knowledge base article to configure M-F-A.
Requirements for Connecting to the FortiClient V-P-N Tunnel
- An A-A-C-C laptop/computer
- An Internet connection
- Successful registration for Multi-factor Authentication
- If on site, work with I-I-T staff to connect laptop to the wired network. Then, log in with your network credentials. Note: When you’re connected to a dock/Ethernet on campus, there is no need to use FortiClient.
- FortiClient is only necessary when at home, or using A-A-C-C Wifi.
- Computer must pass security check. Computer must have up-to-date antivirus and MacOS updates. V-P-N tunnel will not be created if any of these have not been completed.
1. Log onto your MacOS device.
2. Once logged onto the device you will see the FortiClient icon.
3. Select the icon to open FortiClient
4. You will now be presented with the FortiClient Console where you will select REMOTE ACCESS in the left navigation.
5. Enter your username and password and then select Connect.
6. You will then be prompted to "Authenticate" on your mobile device. Note: You will not a receive % value when authenticating.
7. Once you have successfully authenticated, you will see verification that you are connected to the VPN. You can then minimize the screen.
