Overview
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) provides access to cloud based virtual desktops to support remote learning and administrative access when away from campus. Access to AVD can be accomplished utilizing an installed remote desktop client or via any modern web browser. Select the button below to access Azure Virtual Desktop via a web browser.
The web-based version of Azure Virtual Desktop can be accessed from the Technology Resources card in the MyAACC Portal:

AACC provides all students with access to a limited selection of applications through AACC’s Open Access Desktop. Students may also be granted access to course specific virtual desktops based on specific classes they are enrolled in.

AVD allows you to access necessary software / services for your class or job assignment without having a college issued device that has the software installed.
General Access is available to ALL AACC Students:

Note: A selection of applications found within course desktops can also be found in the General Access Desktop which can be used in conjunction with the installed Accessibility Software if desired.

Use of the AACC's Azure Virtual Desktop Environment also provides access to various onsite college resources (such as Colleague and the G Drive).
AVD Access Options:
Option #1: Remote Desktop Client
AVD can be accessed via the Remote Desktop Client on Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS computers. Accessing AVD through the Remote Desktop Client provides the most responsive experience for accessing virtual instances.
Windows
Installing and Accessing AVD via a locally installed Remote Desktop Client (Windows)
- From a web browser of your choice, browse to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2068602 to obtain the most recent Microsoft Remote Desktop Client.
- Launch the downloaded media and install following the steps below:
- Review and acknowledge the licensing terms and select Next.
- Select the ‘Install just for you’ option and select Next.
- Once installed, the Remote Desktop Client will launch. At the Remote Desktop start page select Subscribe.
- Select the ‘Use Another Account’ option.
- On the subsequent screens please enter your AACC username@aacc.edu (employee) or username@mymail.aacc.edu (student) and password.
- Deselect the ‘Allow my organization to manage my device’ option and click the ‘No, sign in to this app only’ option.
- Remote Desktop client has been successfully configured, you may access your remote desktop by selecting the computer icon displayed in the Window.
MacOS
Installing and Accessing AVD via a locally installed Remote Desktop Client (MacOS)
MacOS X 10.13 (High Sierra) or higher is required.
1. Launch the App Store and log in using your personal credentials. Search for ‘Microsoft Remote Desktop’ and download the application as seen below:
2. Once installed select Open. The app can also be found in the Applications folder.
3. Select the Workspaces tab and then Add Workspace.
4. In the Add Workspace prompt, type the following URL and then select Add: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery
5. If the following screen appears select the ‘Use Another Account’ option.
6. On the subsequent screens please enter your username@aacc.edu (employee) or username@mymail.aacc.edu (student) and password.
7. The Remote Desktop client has been successfully configured, you may access your remote desktop by selecting the computer icon displayed in the window.
ChromeOS
Installing and Accessing AVD via a locally installed Remote Desktop Client (ChromeOS)
ChromeOS version 53 or higher is required.
1. Launch the Google Play Store and log in using your personal credentials. Search for Microsoft Remote Desktop and download/install the application as seen below:

2. Once installed, open the Remote Desktop App on your device
3. Select the Workspaces tab and then Add Workspace.
4. In the Add Workspace prompt, type the following URL and then select Add: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery
5. If the following screen appears, select the Use Another Account option.
6. On the subsequent screens, please enter your AACC email address, username@aacc.edu (employee) or username@mymail.aacc.edu (student) and password.
7. The Remote Desktop client has been successfully configured. You may access your remote desktop by selecting the computer icon displayed in the window.
Option #2: Accessing AVD via a Web Browser
Accessing AVD through the web browser provides quick and convenient way to access your virtual desktop without needed to install any additional applications. Performance may vary between web browsers and the available screen size will be limited within the browser window.

Installing and Accessing AVD via a Web Browser
1. From a web browser of your choice, browse to: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient
Also available from MyAACC and the App Launcher button in M365.
2. Log in using your AACC email address and password.
3. You may access your remote desktop by clicking the computer icon displayed in the Window.
4. After selecting the virtual host, you be presented with an option to allow access to local resources. You can select ‘Allow’ within this dialog to enable copy and paste.
5. You will now presented with a fully featured Windows Virtual Desktop in Azure with campus connectivity.
6. When your are finished using the virtual system, please select the logoff button found when selecting ‘Start’ and then the User icon at the top of the menu, just above the documents link.
