Overview
Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) allows AACC students and employees to reset a forgotten password, without relying on assistance from the Technical Service Desk. SSPR will soon be available to the AACC community due to IIT's efforts implementing Microsoft’s Cloud Single Sign-on Solution.
The Password Management Tool will continue to be utilized for account activations, password changes, and forgotten passwords.
Students

When you sign in to the MyAACC Portal for the first time, you may receive a prompt stating "More information required." Select Next.
Set up Microsoft Authenticator by selecting Next OR choose a different option by selecting I want to set up a different method. You may also select Skip setup to set up your sign-in methods later. Skip setup can be selected indefinitely.

Microsoft Authenticator
Select Next on your computer. Then, on your phone or mobile device, download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

Back on your computer, select Next. On your mobile device, allow notifications (if prompted) and then add an account, and select Work or school.


Scan the QR Code on your on your computer with your mobile device. Select Next.

Approve the test notification on your device, then select Next on your computer.

Email
Select I want to set up a different method.

Choose Email from the drop down, then select Confirm.

Enter a personal email address. Do not use your @aacc.edu or @mymail.aacc.edu email address here. Select Next.

Check your personal email for a new message from Microsoft on behalf of Anne Arundel Community College <msonlineservicesteam@microsoftonline.com>.

Enter the code provided in the email, and select Next.

Phone
Select I want to set up a different method.

Choose Phone from the drop down, then select Confirm.

Enter your phone number, then choose an option to Text me a code or Call me. Select Next.

Verify that you are not a robot (if prompted), then select Next. You'll receive a phone call or text based on the option that you selected. Answer the call and follow the prompts or enter the text verification code to verify and register your phone number.

Employees

Employee SSPR Registration Instructions
SSPR uses the same sign-in methods utilized by multifactor authentication (MFA). To verify your sign-in methods, select the following link https://aka.ms/ssprsetup and sign in with your employee email (ex. rhawk2@aacc.edu) and password. If you see at last one sign in method listed under Security info, SSPR is already set up for your account.

On or after September 9, 2023, you will receive a prompt to confirm your SSPR sign-in methods ("More information required") when signing in to MyAACC or another Microsoft service with your employee account. Select Next and then Done.

Instructional (@mymail.aacc.edu) Accounts
If you utilize your student account (ex. rhawk2@mymailaacc.edu), you will need to set up alternate sign-in methods for that account also. See the instructions above for Student SSPR Registration.
Add or Update your Sign-in Methods
You can add or update your sign-in methods at any time by navigating to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup and selecting the + Add sign-in method. You can also access Security info from your Outlook Web App (OWA).

Reset a Forgotten Password with SSPR
Now that SSPR is set up for your account, you can reset a forgotten password at any time by selecting the Can't access your account? or Forgot Password link on the MyAACC Portal Sign in Page.

Enter your Email address and captcha, then select Next.
Choose an option to reset your password.
