Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Registration

Overview

Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) allows AACC students and employees to reset a forgotten password, without relying on assistance from the Technical Service Desk.  

The Password Management Tool will continue to be utilized for account activations, password changes, and forgotten passwords.  

Students

When you sign in to the MyAACC Portal for the first time, you may receive a prompt stating "More information required."  Select Next.

Set up Microsoft Authenticator by selecting Next OR choose a different option by selecting I want to set up a different method.  You may also select Skip setup to set up your sign-in methods later.  Skip setup can be selected indefinitely.  

Sign-in methods:

  • Microsoft Authenticator (recommended)
  • Email
  • Phone

SSPR uses the same sign-in methods utilized by multifactor authentication (MFA). To verify your sign-in methods, select the following link https://aka.ms/ssprsetup and sign in with your employee email (ex. rhawk2@aacc.edu) and password. If you see at last one sign-in method listed under "Security info", SSPR is already set up for your account.

Instructional (@mymail.aacc.edu) Accounts

If you utilize your student account (ex. rhawk2@mymail.aacc.edu), you will need to set up alternate sign-in methods for that account also.  See the instructions above for Student SSPR Registration.  

Add or Update your Sign-in Methods

You can add or update your sign-in methods at any time by navigating to  and selecting the + Add sign-in method.  

You can access the same page from your Outlook Web App (OWA). After signing in, select your profile icon in the upper right and select View account. In the new tab, select Security info from left navigation menu.

Reset a Forgotten Password with SSPR

Now that SSPR is set up for your account, you can reset a forgotten password at any time by selecting the Can't access your account? or Forgot Password link on the MyAACC Portal sign-in page.

Enter your Email address and captcha, then select Next. 

Choose an option to reset your password.

Note: SSPR can only be completed with a primary phone method or an office phone method. Alternate phone methods are only available for MFA.

Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) self-service password reset (SSPR) allows the AACC community to change or reset a forgotten password, with no administrator or service desk involvement.
