Activate your MyAACC Account


All AACC students, faculty and staff use the Password Management tool to activate their MyAACC account, update their password, and manage verification options. New students and employees will follow the steps below to gain access to their MyAACC account. 


Activate your MyAACC Account

In order to set up your account, you must complete the identity verification process by providing the following information:

  • AACC ID (also called student ID or employee ID)
  • One-time use Security Code
  • Birth Date
  • User Name

Your security code and AACC user name can be found in the "Activate your MyAACC Account" email message that you'll receive after completing your application. After the verification is completed, you’ll be able to manage your password at any time, 24/7, without reliance on the AACC Technical Service Desk.

Anne Arundel Community College provides access to college computers in computer labs and classrooms and to online services using MyAACC. Your MyAACC account is where you will check your AACC email, plan your schedule, register and pay for classes, attend online classes, view your grades, review financial aid options, and find out what's happening on campus.

Provide Answers to Five Challenge Questions

When providing answers to the challenge questions, we have the following advice:

  • Answers can be anything you like. You don't even have to answer the actual question as long as the answer is something you will remember.
  • Provide simple, short answers as these are easier to remember and to type correctly.
  • Answers should be memorable. Sometimes the first thing that pops into your mind is the best.
  • No one else can see your answers so don't worry about how you answer them.

Security restriction: You may not use the same answer for multiple questions.

Create a Password

Passwords will be accepted if they:

  • Have at least eight characters.    
  • Do not contain your name (first or last).
  • Do not contain your username.
  • Include three of the four character types:
    • Uppercase letter.
    • Lowercase letter.
    • Number
    • Special characters, including: ! @ ^ % $ #. You cannot use: ? ' / [ ] \ { }
  • Are not one of your previous 24 passwords.

Provide Alternate Contact Information

Once you've set your initial password, you need to make sure your alternate contact information is up to date. Please be sure to update your contact information using the Password Management Tool whenever your information changes. If you ever forget your password, AACC will send a temporary security code to your phone or personal email. This will allow you to verify your identity and manage your password 24/7.


If you are unable to log into an AACC computer to access the password management tool, you can do the following:

  • Enter the username and password as shown below, which are both case sensitive:
    • Username: help\help 
    • Password: help
  • Wait two to three minutes to access the password management tool then continue with the directions. When finished, log off.

The college has taken this approach to ensure that your educational records are accessible by you, and only you.
