Overview

The chart below contains a comprehensive list of standard software available at the college. Information & Instructional Technology (IIT) defines standard software as software that is  generally included in our standard computer image.  Most standard software does not require any authorization prior to installation.

Its software includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Student Information Systems (SIS); Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions that address recruiting, retention and alumni relations and fundraising; Analytics and Reporting; Workflow; and Mobile.

Deep Freeze Faronics
No

Faronics Deep Freeze Enterprise makes computers indestructible. It protects endpoints by freezing the desired configuration set by the IT Admin. With an instant reboot, any unwelcome or unwanted changes are removed from the system, restoring it to the original state. This is standard lab software.

Defender Microsoft

Microsoft Defender Antivirus is an anti-malware component of Microsoft Windows.

Edge Microsoft

Microsoft Edge is a cross-platform web browser created and developed by Microsoft.

Firefox Mozilla

Mozilla Firefox, or simply Firefox, is a free and open-source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, the Mozilla Corporation.

Insight Faronics

Faronics Insight is an effective classroom management software that helps teachers create a better learning experience, while streamlining IT administration and supporting multiple labs with ease. This is only installed in labs.

MECM stands for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, formerly System Center Configuration Manager and Systems Management Server (SMS) is a systems management software product developed by Microsoft for managing large groups of computers providing remote control, patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, and hardware and software inventory.

Microsoft 365, formerly Office 365, is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft which adds to and includes the Microsoft Office product line.

Onedrive Microsoft

Microsoft OneDrive is a file hosting service operated by Microsoft. First launched in August 2007, it enables registered users to share and synchronize their files. OneDrive also works as the storage backend of the web version of Microsoft Office.

Respondus Respondus

Respondus 4.0® is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, and other learning systems. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved between different learning systems. (For faculty members)

Snagit is screen capture and screen recording software for Windows and macOS. This is available for faculty and staff computers only.

StudyMate Campus Respondus

StudyMate Campus makes it easy for teachers and students to create flash cards, self-assessments, and learning games – all from within your learning management system.

Teams Microsoft

Microsoft Teams is a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft, as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products. Teams primarily competes with the similar service Slack, offering workspace chat and videoconferencing, file storage, and application integration.

Whitney Font Family Hoefler and Frere-Jones

Whitney is a family of humanist sans-serif digital typefaces, designed by American type designer Tobias Frere-Jones. It was originally created for New York’s Whitney Museum as its institutional typeface. This is the official font for AACC.

Windows 10 Enterprise Microsoft

Windows 10 Enterprise is the college standard operating system. All Windows based devices are deployed with this OS.

Windows Media Player Microsoft

Windows Media Player is a media player and media library application developed by Microsoft that is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as Windows Mobile-based devices.

AACC supports a wide range of software suites and applications.  Non-standard software can be requested by staff to be installed on their AACC computers, a Software Request Form should be completed.
